A loan helped to purchase furniture for the students, and to get the building repaired, which includes whitewash for the walls.

Akhtar's story

Akhtar is a 30-year-old married man who found it painful to see the people living in his community with a hand-to-mouth existence due to a lack of opportunities to get a better livelihood. The root cause of this issue was illiteracy.

To overcome this problem he opened a low-cost private school where the younger generation is given better educational opportunities that will help them to find better jobs later in their lives.

There are 106 students enrolled in the school and 56% of them are female students. Akhtar aims to have a higher enrollment in the near future. Moreover, he wishes to improve the physical condition of the school. He has requested an amount of PKR 250,000 to purchase furniture for the students, and to get the building repaired, which includes whitewash for the walls.
