A loan helped to expand her husband's vegetable business for better savings.

Lipika's story

Lipika is a 29-year-old married woman living in the small village of the Nadia district, West Bengal. She has a family of three members with a monthly income of INR 6,200. Krishna is a housewife and her husband is involved in a vegetable-selling business.

Lipika's husband buys green vegetables from the wholesale market and sells them in the local market. However, due to fewer savings in her account, she has been able to expand her husband's existing business.

Hence, with the help of Gram Bikash Kendra, one of Milaap's field partners, Lipika chose to take a loan of INR 25,000. With this money, she plans to buy more variety of vegetables like tomatoes, pumpkins, brinjals, etc.

Lipika wishes to earn more revenue from this venture. She has a desire to have a secure lifestyle for her family. With an aim to have a better future for her kids, she thanks her lenders for the support.
