Marème's Group's story

This group is made up of 4 women who share strong ties of solidarity and help each other. They live in the same village and seized the opportunity to join a banc villageois during its establishment in the area in March, 2008. They have as their principal business animal husbandry.

Madame Marème (standing at the extreme right of the photo with her hand raised) is the representative of the group She is 55 years old. She is married and the mother of 6 children, aged between 30 and 14 years old, of whom 3 are boys. She works in farming and animal husbandry. She has had experience in this work having done it during more than 20 years.

With this new loan, she is planning to buy a donkey for working the fields during over-wintering, some sheep and some chicks to raise.

With the profits realized from her work she plans to add to her savings and help her daughter-in-law in the house.
