Twegatte Women,s Group's story

Twegatte Women's Group is found in Mpigi. It consists of hardworking members who engage in different economic activities to support their families. It was initially a women's group but the ladies are trying to include men, which they believe will diversify their economic ideas.

Esther is a married woman with four children, all of whom go to school. She owns a boutique, selling secondhand clothes in Mpigi town. She started this business a few years ago with the little savings she had to supplement the family income. She also does poultry farming to supplement her income. Esther says her customer base at the boutique has increased over the years, which necessitates her to increase her stock to meet all customers' demands.

She has applied for a loan from UGAFODE to buy more stock of clothes to selling. She believes that her sales will increase, which will better her finances. Esther appreciates the financial support that will improve her income, thus being able to provide for her children.

Her dream is to transform to brand new clothes because they bring in a bigger profit.
