Lita's story

Lita U. is a 26-year-old woman living in the town of Salelologa. She is married and has 3 children. To make a living, Lita owns & operates a clothing business. While not the only means for generating revenue, the main source of income for the business comes from providing dress-making services to local community members. Lita has been engaged in this business for over 2 years and earns approximately 400 WST a month from these activities.

In 2008, Lita joined SPBD to gain access to financial services to help improve her living situation and ability to engage in business activities. Lita has successfully repaid a previous loan of 400 WST from SPBD. This previous loan was used to purchase additional equipment & implements such as needles & thread. Lita is now requesting a new loan of 2000 WST which will be used to purchase additional fabrics & materials. This will be the 3rd loan taken out by the borrower from SPBD. Lita plans to use the additional revenue generated from the business to make improvements to her house.
