Las Aldeas Group's story

Gloria is 45 years old and in a common law marriage. She has one child and lives with her family in the town of Cucuyagua, Copan. For 20 years she has worked in agriculture, a job she does in a village close to her house. She offers her customers good quality coffee, wet processed, dry processed, or as freshly picked beans.

The group loan she seeks will be used to invest in the purchase of fertilizers, and to weed and fertilize her coffee farm. The loan will help her generate more resources and modernize her crop to improve her production. Her goal is to build a house for her son.

The group she belongs to is called Las Aldeas. It is made up of six members who work in agriculture. They seek a group loan in the amount of 27,000.00 lempiras to buy fertilizers and improve their coffee crops. They appear in the photograph, from left to right, as follows: Maria, Suyapa, Zoila, Gloria, and Maria Bety.
