Meach's story

Meach C., 44, is married with four school-aged children. She resides in Kampong Cham Province, Cambodia with her husband (pictured) and children. To make a living, she runs a business selling fish at a local market in the town, earning an income of US $5 per day. Her husband always helps his wife in the business. He also operates a business selling Cambodian traditional cakes, earning an income of US $5 to help cover the family expenses. C. and her husband are seeking to improve their standard of living and generate a better income. Therefore, C. is asking for a loan of US $1,000 to purchase a motorbike to easily transport the fish to sell at the market. This is her second loan from CREDIT, Kiva’s partner. She hopes this loan will enable her family to cut back on public transportation expenses.
