Lydia's loan finished fundraising, but these other borrowers need your support

A loan helped to buy fertilizer and high-quality seeds to help a widowed mom improve her horticulture farm yields, earn a higher income, and eventually change her living conditions.

Lydia's story

The nice woman who appears in the photo is Lydia. She is widowed. Lydia is an ever-smiling woman, who is not deterred by the difficulties she encounters in her quest for success. Lydia has lovely children who help her in her day-to-day farming activities.

Like many farmers from Kerugoya, Lydia keeps dairy cows and grows horticultural produce and maize, a staple crop that she has been planting for as long as she can remember. Over time, the fertility of her land has started to decline, and her maize and horticultural yields are decreasing with each season. Her farmland has also been affected by weeds.

Lydia is currently requesting a loan from Juhudi Kilimo, a Kiva field partner, in order to buy fertilizer and high-quality seeds to improve her horticulture farm. Through this loan, she expects to increase her crop production, improve the harvest, and earn a higher income. Thus, this loan will help her to change her living standards.

Lydia is confident that, if you lend to her, her next planting season will be good. She thanks you wholeheartedly for your previous help, and hopes for your warm response.
