Indira Mabel's story
Indira, 27, is a member of the Jave Jireh communal bank in Portoviejo. The members of this group are very Christian and dedicated to their work. Portoviejo is the provincial capital of Manabí on Ecuador's coast. The province is noted for its gastronomy (seafood) and the Route of the Sun with its beautiful beaches. This bank is noted for its very punctual members and for the temperance and responsibility of each one of them. Indira is a single mother of two young children. She has dedicated herself to study and has earned three university degrees: one as a Medical Technician, one as a Bachelor in Language and another Bachelor in Educational Leadership. In the mornings she works at a school for children with special needs and in the afternoons she tends to her business. She states that she has 12 children that need her help. The funding requested will be used to invest in her business buying teaching materials like toys and books to be used in therapy for the children thereby offering better service.
