Bic's loan finished fundraising, but these other borrowers need your support

A loan helped with rental space at a commercial kitchen, purchase of ingredients, and employ an additional person to help continue doing more cafe takeovers and gain working capital for a food truck.

Bic's story

I am a native of South Vietnam and the owner of Jackrabbit, my name is Bic Nguyen. I am 33 and found my calling by cooking Vietnamese food for friends at dinner parties. One of six children, I was born in Tran Hahn Village in South Vietnam, I moved to Broken Arrow, Oklahoma with my family when I was five years old. With humble beginnings, my mother would cook traditional dishes everyday using fresh herbs and vegetables from our garden. As a little girl, I cooked along side my mother, learning to measure and taste using only my hands. I have been working in the resturant industry since I was 16 years old. Working my way from hostess to server to bar tender and bar manager, hospitality is my passion. A graduate of the Kitchen 66 1.0 Launch program, I am currently refining my business through cafe takeovers. I want to share my family recipes with more than a handful of friends and plan on opening my own food truck, Jackrabbit. Jackrabbit will offer authentic Vietnamese food like pho, spring rolls, and caramelized pork to the heart of Tulsa business district.
