A loan helped buy pigs and ducks to raise.

Marie Thérèse Louise's Group's story

This group belongs to a banc villageois that has existed since November 2011. It is composed of eighteen women who belong to the same religious community and live in different neighborhoods of the city. They get along well and have a strong sense of solidarity with each other. They have successfully repaid more than 15 loans. Their main business is retail and raising animals.

Madame Éliane, who is 67 years old, is the group representative standing on the right side of the picture with a raised hand. She is widowed and the mother of 6 (4 daughters and 2 sons), all of whom are married. She is the grandmother of 5 children. She is also the president of the banc villageois.

She is a retired nurse, and her business is raising pigs and ducks. She buys the animals from breeders and raises them at home.

With this loan, she plans to buy 4 suckling pigs, 4 pairs of ducks and a sack of duck feed. She sells the animals on order and for big events. She repeats this activity every month.

With her profits, Madame Éliane saves with the banc villageois, manages her house, daily expenses, and clothes for herself and her grandchildren in order to help out her children.
