Makeleta's story

Makeleta, she's 40 years old, and married with two children.She's running her business of weaving

.Makeleta has a talent of weaving mats and ta'ovala. She's running her business at her home and does not hire anyone to help her. She weave for her business and take it to the market to sell there in order to earn her some more income to help her family for living and also to help pay back her loan.

Last February Tonga was struck by a very strong cyclone named Gita and this affected most Tongan people's lives.

The cyclone destroyed all her pandanus and mulberry and also her house. She faces challenges after the cyclone she lack of raw materials.

Makeleta applied for a rehabilitation loan and used it to recover her business and also her house to recover from the cyclone damages.

Her vision for the future to educate her children in to a better career in the future.
