Jameela's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy more stock of thread, silk, fancy sequins, and pearls of various colors for her embroidery business.

Jameela's story

Jameela is a 50-years-old married woman. She is living with her husband in the area of Lahore, Pakistan. She belongs to the poor family; her husband’s income is not sufficient to meet the family expenses and Jameela has been doing embroidery work at home to support her husband. Her hand embroidery helps to financially support her family.

Due to regular use and the customers demand, her embroidery raw materials have been diminisheing and now she wants to buy more embroidery material to fulfill the customer demand and wants to better establish her business.

Therefore, she requested a loan from Kiva’s field partner BRAC Pakistan, to buy more stocks of thread, silk, fancy, sequins, and pearls of various colors for her embroidery business so she can support her family members and earn greater income.

She hopes that this loan will prove beneficial for her and for her family.

Jameela is very thankful to Kiva and BRAC Pakistan.
