Ann's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy another big water tank to harvest the rainwater that normally goes to waste and irrigate her farm.

Ann's story

Hello, Kiva community!

Ann is a hardworking farmer from a remote village in the Limuru area of Kenya. Thanks to her daily efforts, she has managed to give her children a good start by providing them with a good-quality education.

Ann has a farm where she grows crops and raises livestock. She also earns some income from a personal business. She never had a formal education and is content with the farming lifestyle.

The Limuru area is a favorable one for farming, but the major problem is unreliable rainfall. Ann wants to change this, so she is requesting a loan to buy another water tank to combine with the one she has right now. The tank will enable her to harvest the rainwater that would otherwise go to waste during the rainy seasons.

Through this loan, her farm will be assured of constant irrigation and, hence, increased productivity.

Ann is always working to improve her family’s living conditions, but her biggest dreams are to become independent and support her family by herself, to secure her children’s future, and to buy a home.

Light up a life this second half of the year and celebrate a smallholder Kenyan farmer!
