Carmen Rosa's story

Carmen is a 32 year old entrepreneurial woman with the dream to have her own property and help her 5 children succeed. The oldest of her sons, from her first relationship, is 15 years of age. Followed by 12, 10, 6 and the smallest is 4 years old. These 4 children are from her second partner Alcides, her current relationship.

Carmen and Alcides have worked in agriculture for 8 years harvesting cassava (or yuca) and fruits. Both work day and night to get ahead. Carmen requests her loan for investing in a motocarro (light three-wheeled van) that would allow her to take out the produce to markets, shops and restaurants in the area, thereby reducing transport costs.

Her greatest wish is to become the biggest supplier in the area, growing her market and having customers, which she can offer quality products to at a fair price.
