María Esmeralda's story

María studied up to the ninth grade in school, is partnered, and her partner works selling bread. She has a child who depends on her.

María works selling fried potatoes, yucca, atol [a corn-based drink], chicken pies, etc. She has worked at this trade for over 2 years and learned it at her own initiative. The distance she travels from her house to her workplace is 1/2 kilometer.

She works Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from 10:00 am to 8:00 pm.

María will use the loan to purchase potatoes, sauce, salt, yucca, oil, etc. to prepare and sell traditional foods.
