Michael Kazungu's story
Michael Kazungu M. is a 34-year old farmer who lives in Malindi and is married to Janet Kangombe. They have five children between the ages of 11 years and 9 months. Michael has been in the farming business for the last five years. He was introduced to KADET by an agricultural officer in Malindi. With this loan, Michael plans to pay for farm labor and to buy petrol, farm seedlings, and pesticides. He intends to open his own farm store to sell supplies directly to farmers. (Currently, the farmers buy supplies from brokers.) He also dreams of building his own hardware shop and describes himself as quiet, focused, and hardworking.
