A loan helped to restock clothes for her boutique, and also add equipment and chemicals for her salon.

Rusununguko Group's story

Josephine, aged 32, is a divorcee who has risen against all odds and is a thriving businesswoman who owns a salon and a boutique. She tries to balance both her business and family life as a single mother. She has two school-going children.

In order to assist each other morally and financially, Josephine formed a group together with a friend in Chitungwiza, which they termed "Rusununguko". Josephine will use her share of the loan to restock clothes for her boutique, and also add equipment and chemicals for her salon. She usually restocks her products from Zambia and from small wholesale shops in the central business district of Harare.

Josephine's hard work can never be doubted, as she has managed to buy a residential stand using her profits from previous loans. Because of this notable achievement, she has become an inspiration to other women around her, encouraging them to apply for loans at Thrive and to invest in various projects. Her good business acumen, good payment record, and loyalty to the Thrive brand earned her a part-time post as a field marketer for Thrive.
