A loan helped to buy nine sheep.

Coumba's Group's story

This group belongs to the banc villageois created in December 2010. It is composed of women who have a spirit of solidarity and work mainly as vendors and livestock farmers.

Couma, the one standing on the right in the photo raising her hand, is the star vendor. She is 26 years old, married and the mother of six children, including three daughters. Couma has been raising livestock for years, aided by her husband who helps with taking care of the animals as well as with buying and reselling them.

With her new loan, Couma plans to buy nine sheep to resell after fattening them for five months. The rest of the loan will be used for animal feed. Couma plans to use her revenues to pay for her children's schooling.
