A loan helped to refurbish the outlet, and provide working capital.

Inaam's story

Inaam, age 53, lives in Shuafat in Jerusalem, and has seven children (three at home, one at university). She is widowed, and had to cease her work selling goods from home following the death of her husband, for lack of finances. She now wishes to set up a fashion shop, building on sales she has made from home. She imports from Turkey and China, through relatives in Hebron. The shop, which she inherited from her father, will have an advantage in being run by a woman.

Inaam has received business training from MATI, the training partner of the Jerusalem Interest-free Microfinance Fund. She is seeking NIS 10,000 for redecorating and for working capital to get her business going. The business should help her increase her household income to help support her children’s education.
