Hamamaoko Group's story

Joyce is a 34-year-old lady who has never been ashamed of trying new projects in life. She has two children at school. She has a poultry business which she started about 4 years ago. Joyce has 50 road runners which she supplies to canteens in Chitungwiza.

Apart from the poultry business she also sells empty sacks. She mainly sells them in rural nearby Harare and other farms as she targets farmers who normally stocks their grains. Recently she diversified to kitchenware business. Joyce is now selling plastic dishes, cups and water glasses in Chitungwiza. She restocks them from industries in Harare where they are affordable and sells them in farms and in Chitungwiza.

Joyce is married to a cross border trader and she was motivated to help him in covering household expenses. She is a member of Hamamaoko group which is based in Zengeza. The group comprises of 2 hardworking members and they have made notable progress from their previous loan. Joyce managed to improve her stock which enabled her to realize more profits.

She used her share of the loan to restock more roadrunners and kitchenware so as to maximize her sales.
