Jorge's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped To pay for his programming education to secure a career path in Mexico as a returned migrant from the US.

Jorge's story

Jorge was born in Mexico City and moved to the US at a young age. He returned to Mexico in 2014, scared and frustrated with the consistent blockages and obstacles in the United States, which prevented him from getting a career and securing a future. Here, he struggled to find employment and was treated unkindly by the job market.

Hoping to overcome these obstacles and change his path, Jorge joined the HolaCode program 5 months ago. This is a programming bootcamp and social enterprise that works with refugees, deported and returned migrants from the US. The aim is to teach students computer programming and help them secure a high demand job and allow access to social mobility. What this means is a great opportunity for careers rather than the impoverishing options otherwise available for people in Jorge’s situation.

Now, Jorge is looking for a loan to pay for his HolaCode tuition. This will be used to invest in a new student until he secures decent employment in the tech sector. HolaCode's education greatly improved Jorge’s options, increasing his monthly income around 3 times, so that he can finally build his future.
