Adama's story

Adama runs a palm oil business. Palm oil is red in color and is the corner stone of Sierra Leone cuisine. It is used as the base for spicy stews. Good quality oil is said to be high in antioxidants. The oil is usually sold in yellow plastic cans.

Borrowers like Adama save money when they buy their oil in bulk. She has been in this business for the past 10 years now and works 8 hours per day and 6 days a week. Her other source of income is from her husband.

Her main challenge is lack of transportation during rainy season .

Adama requested this loan from BRAC to purchase more palm oil etc. to increase her business. She says that the extra income from this loan will improve the standard of living for her family.

In the future she wants her business to expand. She says thanks to BRAC and Kiva community for their supports.
