Deborah's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to start an Agrovet business (a shop for farm inputs, such as animal feed, drugs, and pesticides).

Deborah's story

Greetings from Bungoma, Kenya!

Deborah is a young farmer from a remote village in Bungoma, Kenya. She has defied the common thinking among Kenyans that agriculture is for the older generation. Deborah is happily married, and is blessed with lovely children. Her primary source of income is milk, and she also plants beans on their farm.

Although she earns handsome profits from farming, she faces one big challenge: the high prices of fertilizers, seedlings, and other farming inputs. This is a result of the monopoly that is enjoyed by the only Agrovet shop in her area.

Deborah is humbly requesting a loan to start her own Agrovet shop. Her remote area has only one agro dealer, who caters to many smallholder farmers who solely depend on him for agricultural inputs. The agro dealer has been making a big profit from farmers by charging them extra, since she enjoys a monopoly.

Deborah wants to change this and seize the business opportunity. With your loan, she will start an Agrovet shop, and tap into the potential agricultural market.

You can be part of this dream. Go for it; make a loan.
