Cristo Viene 1 Group's story

Germaine is a Haitian immigrant, who arrived in the Dominican Republic with her parents 33 years ago. The extreme poverty in Haiti causes its citizens to have to leave for the closest countries in search of a better quality of life.

Germaine lives in a rural community of sugarcane workers in La Romana. In spite of being a tourist province, La Romana has areas where people, such as the sugarcane workers, are living with high levels of poverty.

Germaine, like all enterprising women, must innovate in different types of businesses in order to support her family. She has a cart, from which she sells cookies, juices, candy, and bread. But she also works selling clothing, such as skirts, pants, dresses, etc.

These businesses have helped to support her family. She dreams that her children can prosper and move forward with their education and also that she can have her own house.

Germaine needs your help to be able to purchase merchandise for her business, such as cookies, juices, candy, bread, dresses, skirts, pants, etc. Thank you for supporting the group Cristo Viene 1.
