Canayre Ii Group's story

Lidia is 37 years old and has four children. She and her husband help one another to move their family forward. Lidia thinks of herself as a determined woman. She does everything she can to see her children succeed, study at a university, and become professionals.

Lidia has been in the farming business for 10 years and is devoted to cultivating cacao. She is requesting a loan from Kiva so that she can maintain her parcel of cacao crops by clearing the land, pruning, and weeding. In addition, she wants to plant more cacao.

Lidia also sells “mazamorra morada” (purple corn pudding) in the afternoons and grilled meat skewers in the evenings. She works hard to generate a better income and improve her quality of life. Eventually she wants to export her cacao and also sell it in the interior of the country.
