Peter's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy farm inputs such as bean seeds and fertilizer to help a repeat Kiva borrower improve his crop production.

Peter's story

Hello Kiva community! Peter, a returning Kiva borrower, is a smallholder farmer practicing dairy, poultry, and crop farming to make a living. Peter enjoys farming, for it is his means of securing the basic necessities of life. In the Kapcherop area of Kenya, where he is from, most people depend on agriculture for a living. Their biggest challenge is the huge deficit in access to agricultural inputs, meaning that farmers' yields and incomes are far below what they could be. Juhudi Kilimo has partnered with Kiva to provide financial services to smallholders around Kenya. Through these financial services, farmers in his village can now buy productive assets and important agricultural inputs for use on their farms. Peter is on his knees humbly seeking a loan to buy farm inputs such as bean seeds, fertilizer, herbicides, and pesticides. Your loan will enable him to improve his production through the use of quality farm inputs. This intervention will help Peter fill the increasing demand for food in the market and, in the process, generate more income to repay the loan debt and elevate the quality of life for his family. Peter wants to begin the next planting season on a high note and on good footing. Support this farmer and loan now.
