Abel's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to invest in a bulk purchase of wood.

Abel's story

Abel is an artisan from Peru who specializes in tooled leather furniture and decor accents. For this loan he would like to invest in a bulk purchase of wood, leather and varnish.

Abel has been selling through NOVICA since 2000. This is his story:

Peruvian artisan Abel has been crafting leather items since he was 16. His older brother, Hector, taught him. "When I was 23, I opened my own workshop in my house," Abel says. "I cut and tool fine leather with a distinct style and skill that you won't find in many workshops. I design many beautiful Inca and colonial motifs, and emboss those upon the leather. I am especially happy and proud that my products are being sold all over the world now through the internet."

"I am very grateful for the opportunity to receive this microcredit. This will allow me to grow my business and continue to develop new techniques and designs. These funds will be used to buy wood in quantity as well as high quality leather."
