A loan helped to obtain a solar fridge to help him diversify his business.

Most's story

At the age of 43 years, Most is an emerging small-scale entrepreneur based in Kabwe in the Central Province of Zambia. Most lives off grid with his wife and three children.

Most runs an agro store. With no formal employment, the agro store is his only source of income. He stocks a variety of agro products, including a selection of maize seed, fertilizers and pesticides.

Depending on the prevailing season, not all of his stock are fast-moving goods. Most would like to diversify his business. He would like to use half of his store to sell other consumer goods such as fresh meat and fish products that are in high demand but low supply in the surrounding community.

To achieve this, Most requires a cold storage facility to chill and store the fresh goods before their sale. As such, Most is asking for a loan in order to obtain a multi-mode solar freezer.

Rent-To-Own is keen on trying out new solar technologies in helping small-scale entrepreneurs like Most to grow their businesses. Ren-To-Own will deliver and install the freezer at Most’s store and train him on how to properly use and maintain it so that it may continue to work for his business over the long term.
