Rugiatu's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to purchase more food market provisions.

Rugiatu's story

Meet 45-year-old Rugiatu from Moriba town. She is married with five children between the ages of 12 and 25 years old.

Rugiatu runs a retail business and sells sardines, milk, ovaltine, sugar, cocoa, biscuits, sweets, rice, palm oil, mayonnaise, luncheon meat, baked beans, etc. She has been in this business for the past eight years now and works ten hours a day, six days a week. Her other source of income is from her husband. Rugiatu says her main challenge is slow sales sometimes.

Rugiatu requested this loan from Brac to purchase more food market provisions to increase her business. She says that the extra income from this loan will help to take care of her children. In the future, she wants to expand into a big shop. She says thanks to Brac and the Kiva community for their support.
