Karambi Abamwe Group's loan finished fundraising, but these other borrowers need your support

A loan helped to buy fertilizers for her banana plantation.

Karambi Abamwe Group's story

This is Karambi Abamwe group located in the outskirts of Ntungamo. It consists of five women who engage in farming as their source of income.

Joy (extreme right)is a married woman with five children who attend school. She engages in both crop farming and livestock farming. She mainly gets her income from selling milk and bananas.

She has continuously cropped on the same land over the years, which has caused loss of soil fertility. There has been reduction in crop production, which has led to low harvests, thus bringing in low returns. Joy submits that this has reduced her finances, which has made it hard for her to provide for her family, since farming is her only source of income.

In a bid to improve her farming, she has approached UGAFODE for a loan to buy fertilizers for her garden. She is confident that her farm yields will improve both in quality and quantity, thus bringing in more returns.

Joy and the other group members extend their gratitude to the funders for the financial support that will transform their lives and families.
