Krystle's loan finished fundraising, but these other borrowers need your support

A loan helped me with the cash to fulfill bulk orders, such as fabric, trim, and pay manufacturers.

Krystle's story

My name is Kris Harrington, I a NYC based designer originally from Silver Spring MD. Although I grew up in a family of sewers - I was a tomboy who refused to learn how to sew and dreaded those weekends spent in Joann Fabrics. I graduated college with a degree in business and after a few years working in publishing, I realized the design bug had finally hit me. I became frustrated at what I felt was missing in my closet (dressy apparel that was not labeled by gender and blended both the masculine and feminine) and wanted to fill the void by making it myself. I learned how to sew by taking a class in my neighborhood and then took another sewing class after work at FIT. There I learned about the Menswear Design program, applied, got accepted and the rest is history. Now the fabric stores are where I spend my weekends. What motivates me in entrepreneurship is stretching myself and my abilities to heights that I did not know existed in me. It is hard work but I enjoy what I do. As far as being a designer, nothing is more exciting than watching someone's face light up when they are wearing my clothes but I am also proud to be providing what I see is a real need in the market. My goal with this company is not just to grow for myself but to provide opportunity for other designers and makers as well.
