Jamla's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to expand her sewing business and hire women from her local community.

Jamla's story

Jamla is a 49 year old Jordanian woman and mother of 2 kids; she is hard working, ambitious, and believes in following her passion.

After her husband's diagnosis with a chronic illness, Jamla found herself responsible for her household. Having worked in a sewing factory before; she has gained extensive skill in creating patterns and embroidery.

In order to alleviate her family's economic distress; she decided it was time to start her own sewing business. Jamla bought a sewing machine and began making arrangements for her neighbors but soon started receiving orders from many other places.

As her sales increased, Jamla asked for a 1,500 JOD loan from Kiva field partner Micro fund for Women in order to expand her business and hire part time helpers.

Jamla dreams of opening up her own boutique store one day and owning a spacious house for her and her family.
