Maria, 63, is a member of the “Patrón San Roque” communal bank located in the Sacanche district, Bellavista province, San Martín department. She is married and the mother of four children, all of whom are now independent. Her strength and desire to see her family get ahead motivated her to start her own business selling groceries from her home, a space that is well equipped to take care of her customers. Her daily profits help her to improve her family's income. From the beginning until today she has been gaining customers and now she has regular customers who daily come to her business to purchase because she has all the products that a housewife would need and she waits on them personally with the kindness and charisma which so characterize her. With this 2,000 sol loan she will buy sacks of rice and sugar, pasta, packages of salt and oil, boxed milk and preserved fish of various brands, flats of eggs, and personal hygiene items to proviD. better customer service. Maria feels very good to continue working and prepares herself daily to face whatever challenges life might present. She is grateful to the Manuela Ramos Movement for helping women like her to have opportunities to develop in their areas of interest.
