Emily's story

Wonderful people in the Kiva portal,

Get to know Emily, a single mother who has always dreamed of making the world a better place. Emily was brought up in a family that faced extreme poverty, and securing two meals a day was a remarkable achievement. Though she faced life on the blunt edge, she never lost her hope of always wanting to succeed. Emily started farming with the aim of empowering people to live a healthier life by providing them with food. Her determination to persist without giving up hope is her major weapon in fighting poverty. The biggest constraint to the success of Emily is the use of poor-quality fertilizers and lack of certified seeds. Emily is seeking this loan to buy farm inputs such as certified seeds and high-nutrient fertilizers. This loan will enable her to improve her production through use of quality farm inputs.

This intervention will help her fill the increasing demand for food in the market and, in the process, generate more income to repay the loan debt and elevate the quality of life for her family.
