Lawrencia's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy an additional tricycle for plastic waste collection.

Lawrencia's story

Lawrencia is 36 years and married with two sons who are 7 and 9 years old and in school. The family lives in Teshie, an urban slum within the Greater Accra Municipality and the ninth most populous settlement in Ghana. People sell water containers in the community, but there is no way to properly dispose of this plastic waste.

Lawrencia would like to buy an additional tricycle to use to collect plastic waste and by so doing help keep the community clean. She believes this will help her protect her neighbors from falling sick and also help her earn an income, since she will be able to sell the plastic waste to recycling companies.

This is Lawrencia's second loan, and she has a good repayment history. The funds she accessed from Kiva in 2015 helped her to buy a tricycle for her plastic waste management business, which is now thriving.

Thank you to Kiva Lenders for supporting Lawrencia's business!
