Linet's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy farm inputs such as fertilizer and seeds to enable her to grow more vegetables, reap maximum profits, and increase her business.

Linet's story

Greetings from Bungoma, Kenya, Linet (pictured in her house above) is a hardworking farmer from a remote village in the Bungoma area of Kenya. She is a repeat Kiva borrower who has a great credit history. Thanks to her daily efforts, she has managed to give her children a good start by providing them with a good-quality education.

Linet has a farm where she grows crops and raises livestock. With the changes taking place within modern agricultural production, maintaining a competitive advantage in the market has become a major hiccup for many farmers. However, a growing demand for local food has sparked an increase in the number of people joining in agricultural production. Besides the bone grinding labor that most farmers apply on their farm, the quality of inputs used on the farm also determine the quantity and quality of output realized.

Linet requested a loan from Juhudi Kilimo for 50,000 KES, which she will use to buy farm inputs such as fertilizer and seeds to enable her to grow more vegetables, reap maximum profits, and increase her business. Linet has clear sight of her dream to improve her family's living conditions, and she hopes to become independent and support her family by herself to secure her children's future. Linet is thankful to Juhudi Kilimo and its lenders for this financial assistance, which would help her attain a secure future.
