Chandni's story

Chandni is a 28-year-old lady, living with her spouse in the area of Muzaffargarh, Pakistan. Chandni has been running an embroidery business for two years to meet household expenses. Her language is Punjabi, which she speaks with her family, and she speaks Urdu culturally and for her business. They live in their own house made of brick that has drinking water, electricity, and plumbing.

Her embroidery business is very famous in the area, and that is why it runs well. Due to good relationships her business has increased. Chandni wants to meet the demand for bridal dresses. That is why she wants to buy thread, fancy cloth, sequins, and pearls of various colors in advance, to have in stock.

She requires some capital to buy the desired items but does not have sufficient cash on hand. The challenge Chandni is facing is to have sufficient capital to run the business and to be able to support her family in its present form.

Therefore, Chandni humbly requested a loan from BRAC Pakistan. Through this loan, she will be able to buy the thread, fancy cloth, sequins, and pearls of various colors that she needs.

Chandni and her family will be thankful to KIVA, its lenders and field partner BRAC Pakistan for helping them by funding this loan to improve their standards of living.
