Toakase's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy more pandanus for her weaving business.

Toakase's story

Toakase is 25 years old and she is currently separated from her husband. She's the only one responsible for looking after their child. Toakase's business is weaving. She does this together with her sister and other women in their village.

Last February, Tonga was struck by the most intense cyclone on record, and sadly, it affected Toakase's house and her business. Some of their iron roof was blown off and their main sliding door was broken by coconut leaves. Her pandanus plantation was badly destroyed by the cyclone. Her greatest challenge now is lack of pandanus.

Even though Toakase is still recovering, she never stops working hard to achieve her vision for the future of her family. She would like to build a house for them, and especially because she's a separated mother, she wants to give the best to her child.
