Jesca's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to pay for farm inputs and to hire laborers to grow more crops on the farm to generate more income and, as a mother, to improve her life.

Jesca's story

Jesca is a mother who is so excited about this year’s Mother’s Day celebration. She is a rural smallholder farmer from the Bungoma area of Kenya. She is married to a fellow farmer.

Her family's main source of income is milk from their dairy farm, and maize which she harvests at various seasons.

The biggest problem that farmers from her village face is the huge deficit in terms of access to agricultural inputs, meaning that farmers' yields and incomes are far below what they could be.

Juhudi Kilimo has partnered with Kiva to provide financial services to smallholders around Kenya. Through these financial services, farmers from Bungoma, like Jesca, can now buy productive assets and important agricultural inputs for use on their farms.

Jesca is seeking a loan to buy farm inputs such as fertilizer and good quality seeds. Your loan will enable her to improve her production through the use of quality farm inputs.

This intervention will help her to meet the increasing demand for food in the market and thereby generate more income to repay the loan debt and improve her family's quality of life.

Help this enterprising farmer achieve her dreams during this years Mother’s Day celebration.
