Tet Ansanm Desormaux's story

The linkage between formal institutions such as savings-led groups and formal microfinance institution serve as a transformative approach on reducing poverty.

At the beginning of a new cycle, savings groups demonstrate a high need of linkage to a financial institution because of the lack funding to enable their members to borrow money for investment as the cash box is empty after share-out from the previous cycle. That is why a group like Tet Ansanm, whose leader is Bidlove, is looking for a loan to invest in personal products. With this loan, a third of the members will be able to have access to larger loans and better security for their deposits.

The purpose of the financial linkage is not only to provide accessible and affordable services to the poorest of the society but also to instill sufficient information on the operations of a financial institution.
