Everline's loan finished fundraising, but these similar borrowers need your support

A loan helped to buy different varieties of cereals from local farmers and sell them at her local market to earn a commission and take care of her family.

Everline's story

Everline is a crop and dairy farmer who lives in a remote village in the Kenyenya area of Kenya. She works hard to meet the demands of her family and to lead a healthy lifestyle.

Everline, one of the most enterprising women in her area, loves to perform farming activities such as irrigation, spraying, feeding her animals and harvesting. This has been her job for the past eleven years. She pays her full attention to her farming, despite the little profit that she gets.

Everline has decided to supplement her meagre income by engaging in a side business. She is borrowing this loan to start a cereal business. She wants to start buying different varieties of cereals from local farmers and selling them to her customers and at the local market. Through this engagement she will earn a commission that she intends to use to repay the loan and elevate her standard of living.

This loan is an opportunity that she has never gotten before. Her irregular income and lack of collateral security were the main drawbacks limiting her from accessing a loan in commercial banks. Thanks to Juhudi Kilimo and Kiva, the lives of Everline and her family will be changed through this loan.
