Annick's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!
A loan helped to build more bungalows and expand food offerings for her motel.
Annick fled to Rwanda as an Burundian refugee with her teenage daughter. They fled to this new country without any savings and an uncertain future. Annick dared to dream of a future beyond the refugee camp and resettled in an urban area of Rwanda. In 2015, she was able to buy land to start a motel. As the sole provider for her family, she has only just began to save money and rebuild stability in her life. The motel's location is attractive due to its easy accessibility, cleanliness, and bustling area. Annick has a keen eye for excellent service. With this new loan, she will build out and renovate more rooms. She hopes to cater to her growing customer base with increased food offerings. The loan will also allow her to grow the motel catering services with more diverse meal offerings and more wait staff. This loan will not only support the livelihood of Annick and her daughters, but also contribute to the livelihood of her growing team of 11 full-time employees and counting. Her business is creating new jobs for other refugees and Rwandans.
