A loan helped to buy baby fish.

Pa Khoang 48 Group's story

Mrs. Thanh is a 26-year-old Thai ethnic woman who is married and has a child who is studying in grade 1.
She lives with her husband and her son in a old Thai traditional stilt house in the poor and remote village of Dien Bien province where agriculture is the main income-generating activity of the locals.

Thanh and her husband had to go to the another province to work, but the income is not enough for them and they had to live far away from her son so now they want to go back home to develop fish farming.

Thanh has taken out a loan from the Anh Chi Em program to buy baby fish. She hopes that those fish will grow up fast and healthy. She plans to use the profit to repair her house.

Mrs. Thanh dreams that she could provide her son with a more abundant life with better living conditions and better education so that they will have a brighter life.
