A loan helped to buy an additional new Juki sewing machine for her tailoring business, which she does with her daughters.

Safena's story

Safena is 42, living in the area of Rawalpindi, Pakistan, with her husband and 3 sons and 2 daughters. She has to do hard work to feed her family.

To manage her household expenses, she owns a small tailoring business with the help of her daughters at home. Safena and her 2 daughters have been stitching clothes for many years. Her daughters have been helping and learning tailoring work with her and now have gotten a lot of experience.

Safena wants to buy an additional new Juki sewing machine for her daughters so that they can contribute in income by sewing clothes.

Therefore, Safena requested a loan from Kiva’s field partner BRAC Pakistan, so she can buy an additional new Juki sewing machine for her tailoring business. Safena wants to make some savings so that she will be able to arrange the marriage ceremony of her daughters.

Safena thanks Kiva and field partner, BRAC Pakistan.
