Neyde's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to pay for four greenhouses that will increase her production of vegetables and fruits.

Neyde's story

Nedye is a 24-year-old recently graduated university student who has been working with her father since 2010 at their farm in the Maputo province. They have been harvesting honey, vegetables and fruits.

Neyde feels that agriculture is an activity that needs to be practiced because it provides nutrition. Her biggest challenge is not being able to improve her production conditions and size to better sell at the local market.

Neyde has always dreamed of owning a protected production system in a closed environment. These funds will go towards the purchase of four tropical greenhouses, which will enable her to provide quality vegetables regularly and all year round. Currently, she is unable to produce vegetables during the Mozambican summer due to very hot temperatures and long periods of direct sunlight roughly during the months of October-April. The greenhouses will open up great business opportunities as the supply of vegetables in the Maputo region is very low during these months and the prices are very advantageous. The equipment includes specialized shading and irrigation, which Neyde will take advantage of to grow vegetables.

Neyde is enrolled in a local program that supports a portion of the investment in equipment. She is searching for financing of approximately the final 15% of the greenhouse cost in order to leverage the available support.
