Mammy Fatu's Farmers Group's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to pay for improved seeds, organic inputs and tractor rental which will allow these farmers to escape subsistence by farming a larger area with a higher yield.

Mammy Fatu's Farmers Group's story

Mammy Fatu (4th from right), is the featured borrower of Mammy Fatu's Farmers, is an elder farmer in Kolisokoh village and has a large extended family of 14. She is a strong women's leader in the community, and regularly organizes women's activities.

A seasoned farmer, Mammy Fatu saw many female farmers in her village suffer during the Ebola crisis, as happened to her. She has therefore organized an exceptional, hard-working and experienced group of other women who similarly had prospered before the Ebola crisis, lost everything but now will not give up.

All members are currently trapped in a cycle of subsistence and take extremely high-interest loans for poor quality inputs during planting time. A no-interest Kiva loan will enable this group of determined women to get back on their feet and back in business.
