Kuska Purisun Group's story

Teodosia is 54 years old. She is a hard worker, a fighter, and a woman driven to provide for her family, mainly her three children, so they can become professionals.

She started selling fruit ten years ago. She goes out every morning to sell her produce on the streets of Santa Rosa. In the afternoons she works preparing "canchita" (Peruvian corn nuts), which she then goes out to sell on the street also.

Teodosia's big goal is to open a small stall in the local market where she wants to set up a juice stand so that she doesn't have to walk in the sun all day. She is requesting this loan through Kiva so that she can rent and eventually buy a stand in the market to start selling fruit juice.

"I'm a very hard worker. My husband and I have a plot of land where we grow cacao. We do all of the maintenance and work hard," said Teodosia.

Her main goal is for her two youngest children to be able to stay in school. She invests all of the profit from her business in their education. Her children get good grades and as a mother she is very proud of them.
