Judy's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped pay the weekly commercial kitchen fees to produce bakery products for a major grocery store chain.

Judy's story

I am Judy Sanderson, the youngest of five siblings. I was born and raised in the Millvale Housing Projects in Cumminsville (Cincinnati OH). I had lot of support from my mother in hobbies I enjoyed. When I wanted to bake cookies, she obtained all the ingredients. When I wanted to sew, she picked out several pieces of fabric and took me to the store so I could select which piece I personally liked. To this very day I still enjoy sewing and refer to myself as a seamstress. The encouragement I received from my mother, at a very young age, is impacting me today. I receive positive feedback from those who purchase and enjoy my carrot cakes, which is the signature product of Carrots From The Earth, LLC. Since I was now supplying my gourmet carrot cakes to three stores, business increased. I came to a point where I had to choose between corporate America (the full-time job that paid the mortgage and car payment, and provided health insurance) or the bakery (since I could not physically continue to do both). I took a risk, chose the bakery in November 2017, and resigned from my corporate position. Since this is the second time I am working as an a full-time business owner (the first time was 20 years ago as a software instructor for four years), I knew I needed to immediately start networking and resourcing with others, which has been positive for me. I am excited that a major grocery store chain will be selling my gourmet carrot cakes and look forward to supplying many of their stores. If you ask me to describe my Gourmet Carrot Cakes, I will say, "It's So Good ... It Will Make You Want To Shout!"
