A loan helped to start her own poultry business, keeping broilers at her home for selling.

Linda's story

Linda is a 19-year-old entrepreneur who lives with her parents in the Mt. Darwin District in Zimbabwe. She is requesting a Kiva loan in order to start her own poultry business, keeping broilers at her home for selling. Linda plans to use the profit she earns to support her family and continue her education.

She will repay the ‘social interest’ on her loan by volunteering 2.5 hours weekly as a Camfed Transition Guide, supporting other young women who are just entering Camfed’s alumnae organization, CAMA, by delivering an orientation course with weekly sessions on topics including health and financial literacy, as well as by providing career guidance.
